March marked pretty much the end of the line of me trying with the ZV-1F. You may have also noticed a gap of no photos for February 2025, and that’s because I was just lost for hope on this camera. I had bought a Telephoto attachment in hopes that it would allow me to at least fake a tighter focal length, but unfortunately as the photo shows that failed spectacularly. So, enough was enough.

Early on in March I finally decided to jump ship and move to a Fujifilm camera to gain the flexibility of interchangeable lenses, starting with a 35mm prime lens. The X-T20 was my given choice for its functional offerings (interchangeable lenses and film sims) and that it was a pretty good budget option at the time, usually around $500. I thought I was in over my head giving up on Sony and not trying to overcome the challenge of the borderline fish-eye lens, but moving onto this was truly my best decision in so long.

The weekend after getting accommodated to my new camera was the first I set out to focus on photography while out-and-about. Unfortunately, I was relegated to doing so from the passenger seat, and unbeknownst to me, my CPL filter would not have a fun time with the stress patterns on the windshield and passenger-side window. On top of that throwing off the colors, my exposures were all over the place even after editing. Still some growing pains, but I was getting the hang of things. This is also where I learned that RAW photos don’t have lens distortion correction applied, so I was also coping with this in the meantime.

The following weekend, bluebonnets blooming in Texas were all the rage after there was a distinct lack of them the spring prior, so naturally we went out on the hunt for a fun field to shoot at, and found ourselves by our local townhall. Lens distortion and peaking sky highlights were certainly the bane of this photoshoot, but a couple came out pretty nice in my opinion.
